Sabrina came in the other day in search for the perfect present for her sister’s birthday… HAPPY 16TH BIRTHDAY Sabrina’s sister! Sorry I don’t know your name! A few days later, Sabrina brought in a couple friends/soul sisters, Ally & Elizabeth Hilfiger.. and my god, I really had a good time. These ladies know how to spend a sunday, eating chocolate and browsing the shops here on beautiful 9th Street in the East Village. Ally, who is launching her OWN line in Fall 2010 scored a BEAUTIFUL Caterina Gatta jumpsuit with Fabric from Leonard, the “French Pucci”.. Elizabeth’s 16 year old taste- is far advanced, as she picked pieces from Westwood, Rick Owens, and the new NOOKA fragrance that is getting all that BUZZ! Here are a few shots of them having fun.
Sweet supermodel Elsa Hosk came in today.. The super model detector went off as she entered Change of Season. She purchased this Beautiful Carolina Damas hand-beaded hairband. Uber model Magdalene would also confirm the Damas spell.. She too bought a beautiful hair comb when we first opened, but I was too shy to ask for a pic.. She’d just gotten back from Paris, and from walking in those crazy-ass McQueen shoes.

You can weather the winter with a change of scenery at Change of Season — a treasure tucked away on East 9th Street specializing in hand-selected pieces from the European collections. For the month of January, shop owners Clinton Curtis and Marco Querci are hosting an end-of-season sale on most items in their store. On offer are bits and pieces from high-end designers such as Balenciaga, Comme des Garcons, Dries van Noten, John Galliano, Vivienne Westwood and more. We were wonderfully distracted by all of the unique pieces: well-crafted dresses for $250 by Isabella Tonchi (former Miu Miu designer), a very sophisticated Dries van Noten cocktail dress for $215 and a Boudicca blouse magnificently constructed with Swiss lace for $295. My friend, Richard, pointed out a pair of pre-washed supple leather Bruno Bordese Mary Janes with a very subtle kitten heel which I ended up buying for a steal at $85. Other accessories included handmade necklaces and bracelets from Milan. Vivienne Westwood belts were tagged at $115 to $145.
What made the shopping experience much more pleasant was speaking with Marco and Curtis, learning the lineage of all the pieces and of their travels throughout Europe shopping for the store. Next month, the duo heads back to the Continent to hand-pick fresh new pieces from the European offerings — which will also include a small selection for men.
