In exchange I got a big hang over! Oh Mama… My favorite lovely songstress Miss Florence Welch, of Florence + the Machine came by once again.. This was a few weeks ago and I cannot believe I’m just now getting around to writing about it.. Flo and management always whirl in for a few minutes between promo gigs.. How she finds the time I have no idea, but it’s fun!

She was in town doing a couple performances to promote her new album Ceremonials, which is yet again, brilliant! Here are a couple shots of her, one in a Dries Van Noten embroidered dress at Change of Season, and a shot of her in an intimate ‘semi-acoustic” performance at The Standard for a Interview Magazine party.. How lucky are we!! Pretty damn lucky.

Firstly, here is Lei, a knitwear designer and karaoke queen in a BEAUTIFUL Gareth Pugh dress, she so nicely styled with a Margiela belt. lovely. And then here’s a pack of ladies on a girls day out! Giarna, Aimee, and a girl whose name escapes me.. But WHO needs a name when you’re sporting a Gareth Pugh mini dress. Just get your phone number ready. And Aimee (black hair) landed a bunch ‘o Rick Owens to sport as she goes out to very important PR meetings! Giarna on the otherhand, although beautifully dressed, is not wearing one of our garments, so feel free to visually block her outfit out of your mind! :-)

But, I digress.. Maybe 9 months or so a couple of BEAUTIFULLY dressed people came into the shop..I of course said HOW AMAZING they both looked and we began to chat. Strangely, Davora (the blonde) had attended the same small art school i had, knew some old Minneapolis friends, and also NOW lives in Seattle where i had lived for 4 years, having may of the same friends that i was close to.. The world is so weird and small, but i love that, and Davora and Ro are lovely.. They were in town for another shopping expedition and came by to see hi and check out the goods. Here is Davora in A.F. Vandevorst Pants and a Ann Demeulemeester top. The top she bought, and the pants I “gifted”.. so In August when i HOPEFULLY get back to Seattle, she’s promised a drink at Pony, hosted by our friend Marcus. Looking forward..

No pic. :-(  And this Saturday Laurel had been dreaming about this Rick Owens Lilies jacket with “shamen” hood… She looks so great.. She had it styled as a scarf when she left.. I ADORE her. She is a firecracker who “knows the shows”, and knows what she likes.. She is a Director at the Museum for African Art here in NY, and she has a love for all things Dries and Rick Owens. She told me stories of her trying to hunt down a particular pair of Dries Van Noten pants that she had to have.. First stop, Antwerp to visit her son and get those pants!  No luck in the pants department! no proper size. Next stop then, PARIS!! You can’t hold a fashion loving woman down! She’ll go continent to continent if she has to.. Well she wore those pants in to see me on Sunday, and they WERE worth the price of that airline ticket and layover to Paris. Simultaneously she picked up this GORGEOUS (and envy of all) Rick Owens dress/romper constructed of who knows how many yards of silk. Throw on a belt and you have another version of the dress.. Marietta knows how to work a garment for day, and un-belt it for night.. loving her.
