And a little BOUDICCA thrown in for Mother’s Day. Lisa was definitely THE most fashionable at the gay church over in Chelsea.. Lisa’s a good friend of ours, and a lover of anything RICK OWENS.. As many of you readers are out there.. Here are some shots of her in her new ROBOT jacket.. She managed to nab one of four jackets we were able to acquire- as well as the pants. AND- this beautiful BOUDICCA top. amongst other amazing pieces. We are honored to be her twice a year shopping destination!

Lisa is a high ranking creative type over at a big magazine. She also sings opera, loves Paris, and has a show coming up VERY soon that highlights her writing talents.. check out the details below if you happen to be in Paris May 21st! We wish we could be there to toast her accomplishments! xxoo

An Exhibition: Le Mystérieux Voyage de Gaspard Black
15 drawings by Geoffrey Guillin with story by Lisa Anselmo
Paris artist, Geoffrey Guillin and NYC writer/creative director, Lisa Anselmo, have collaborated on a unique project: a work of fiction on a grand scale. “The Mysterious Journey of Gaspard Black” chronicles the adventures of a man on a mission to find himself, via 15 portraits and bi-lingual (French/English) text. While each drawing and its accompanying story can stand alone as a complete work, when all 15 are viewed in order, they create a full epic of one man’s journey toward spiritual enlightenment. The exhibition, in Paris, runs for one month, starting 21 May.

…Into the NY music Scene… Transgendered Jesus, AKA Anne Hanavan and Paul on sax (Is he a Hanavan too?) are more locals in the East Village. I see Paul practically every day on his way either to or from work.. and they always pop into the shop on the weekends. Anne is a fashionista by day, downtown ROCK STAR by night.. She’s performed with the likes of Kembra from the Volumptious Horror of Karen Black.. Google it and see if you can pick out Anne amongst the blue paint. Now she’s struck out on her own with Transgendered Jesus.. I hereby name Anne as “MUSE OF JANUARY”.. Anne rocks, AND she shops.. :-) Here she is in a beautiful- although hard to see black BOUDICCA jersey top with split sleeves. You’ll also see her biking about in her BALENCIAGA red wool hat with gold chain.. Paul says she sleeps in it- she’s so attached. Maybe it needs it’s own nursery.

It could work, the new name- yes? It may be a little bit long, and the web address would take 30 seconds to type.. But a man/boy can dream, can he not? Well as you can imagine I’m once again talking about the lovely Florence Welch, of Florence and the Machine. We met maybe 6 months ago at the shop as she strolled in to check out our wears on a rare day off.. After that, in my mind we were the best of friends.. :-) But just a few days ago there was a Drumming noise inside my head for some reason. BOOM BOOM. After her amazing stint on SNL, Florence once again popped by with management and stylist in tow. We ran in slow motion to each other on the street. It was all very dramatic. She had only 20 minutes before another appointment.. Get ready, set, go! she tried on clothes, i talked non-stop, we outfitted her in some Dries Van Noten, Prada, and BOUDICCA.. and I sent our little adoptive niece off into the night. I thought to myself, see you in another 6 months! The next day with again just minutes, she popped in.. Should I get a restraining order? Is she a bit too obsessed with Change of Season? No, of course not. She’s harmless.. She came to drop off a limited addition vinyl.. I’m old (as you can see from the pic), so vinyl means a lot to me. Thanks Miss Florence!! I’m gonna have to take a aspirin for the “drumming noise inside my head.” xo-clinton

Apparently the “fierce” Welsh Queen who fought those Romans,..has been the inspiration for the new Roisin Murphy single with Mason called “Boadicea”. The day the single came out,..we got the beautiful lookbook of Boudicca Spring Collection,….is it just a coincidence? Or is it Change of Season’s magic??

OK, so Kristiina Wilson (not to be confused with our mannequin), brought in her D.C. Parents to adventure through the racks of “couture”. She was holding out for presents… I think she was disappointed.. They know her tricks.. “This is Boudicca, My favorite designer”… Oh nice sweetie, but here is KENZO, sorta like Meri Mekko (sp?)… What’s a goth girl gotta do! Listen, I have a business, I’m married, I rescue cats, I don’t have a tear on my cheek painted with eyeliner anymore! I haven’t bought any Cure tapes since KISS ME KISS ME KISS ME!! C’mon…..Unaffected they were.. Mr. Wilson said as he left, after my suggestion he show his daughter love through consumerism, He said “Been there, done that!”.. Sorry KW… I tried..

Boudicca’s fragrance WODE has arrived and is flying off our little shelf. I’ve been spraying the tester on my arm every hour. Everyone loves it, myself included evidentally! Also some beautiful Galliano pieces, silk dresses and a amazing knitted mohair coat/cardigan. More Softcore pieces are on the way. They are the runaway hit. pieces by McCartney, 1 Balenciaga blouse in silk (grab it while you can). Carolina Damas has created more hair pieces from vintage beads.. And jewelry from Maria Zureta. This designer re-configures old jewelry into amazing modern one-of-a-kind pieces. More Boudicca Apparel arriving (hopefully by this coming weekend). Stay tuned!

It’s a beautiful Sunday afternoon, the cups are disposed of, bottles recycled.. And I’m going through pictures of last night’s event which was SO MUCH fun.. We met so many new people, as well as a lot of Change of Season “family members”.. And I got to see favorite people in my favorite pieces, Boudicca. The enthusiasm was really wonderful!
