For us @ CHANGE OF SEASON,..the NEW YORK FASHION WEEK frenzy started last week,..when Accessories designers, mother and daughter Giovanna and Sarah came in town for some meetings with their clients,and found some time in their busy schedule to stop at the store. Giovanna opted for gorgeous classic (with a twist) pieces from Balenciaga,and a Zureta Necklace,..while Sara went for an edgier Rick Owens Jacket and a billowy silk “goddess like” dress.They could not resist to the call of Fashion!!!

Change of Season’s muse/patron/friend came yesterday to the store and we played “dress up”, she was going for a Hitchcock’s heroine look,..and as you can see we found the right outfit for her: a precious black &white light wool suit by Giambattista Valli, the italian Designer famous for dressing all the socialites, and being inspired by 50′s and 60′s couture. He recently opened his own boutique in Paris! Come see some of his beautiful pieces at our Store!

Foxy Lady

A cross between Florence Welch, Cocorosie Sisters and Zandra Rhodes,the flaming red headed with tattoed face was the inspirations of many writers and painters such as Tennessee Williams,Cocteau,Genet and Dali to name a few,but she was also an artist in her own right. Born in Australia ,she soon moved to Paris when she started drawing,then she found her “own Eden” in a 14th century villa in Positano,Italy, where she sheltered hundreds of stray animals (her real passion).In the 80′s she moved to New York and stayed at the Chelsea Hotel becoming friend with Patti Smith and Robert Mapplethorpe,she returned to Melbourne in late 90′s where she died at the age of 72. Vali legacy with Music,Art and Fashion is still so strong that few years ago a biography was published. Check her pics and bio at www.valimyers.com.
