For us @ CHANGE OF SEASON,..the NEW YORK FASHION WEEK frenzy started last week,..when Accessories designers, mother and daughter Giovanna and Sarah came in town for some meetings with their clients,and found some time in their busy schedule to stop at the store. Giovanna opted for gorgeous classic (with a twist) pieces from Balenciaga,and a Zureta Necklace,..while Sara went for an edgier Rick Owens Jacket and a billowy silk  “goddess like” dress.They could not resist to the call of Fashion!!!

I know , I know,.we (at Change of Season)  have a soft spot for “Indie Rock Chanteuses” and this time we are totally smitten by this half english half italian lady that goes by the name of ANNA CALVI. I guess we are not the only one to like her, Anna can count amongst her fans Brian Eno,Nick Cave,Karl Lagerfeld and Melody Maker has already predicted her to be the next big thing of 2011! She is a mixture of PJ (Harvey) but less dark,Maria Callas and Diamanda Galas with a nod to classical music,cabaret and smoky nightclubs. Her self titled album out now, follows the success of the first single “Jezebel” a dark and moody rendition of a famous Edith Piaf song. Her european tour is almost  sold out,..she will be at Joe’s Pub (New York) in March where she’ll perform her songs about love,lust,passion and loneliness,…Do not miss it!

But NY is fascinating for the people you see wandering about. Yesterday we had breakfast next to Coco Rocha. BEAUTY! So we’re curious just like everybody else, but really when “celebrities” pop in our door I try to be as “normal” as possible. Normal for me is sometimes questionable.. But it’s fun to chit chat with these folks, most very sweet and friendly. Here’s our homage to them for keeping my days always interesting.  Agyness, the sweetest.. Model Magdalena, had just gotten back from the McQueen show with those infamous SHOES!  Carolyn Murphy with daughter in toe. We looked at pics of her in our PRADA book.. Anne Heche, with her newborn in a stroller.. Elijah Wood, came in I think on one of my first days open.. very nice, and NOT SHORT! That’s what everyone asks.. He won’t be recruited into the NBA any time soon, but still… Florence Welch… nothing else needs to be said except for “TAKE EVERYTHING I HAVE!” The first time she offered to do a in-store set.. Probably should’ve worked on that a bit more. And then Joan.. so cute and funny. I had a lot of fun dressing her up. xxoo
